For this week I looked at creating a SMART goal of my own. My current job is a STEAM teacher for 1st-4th grade students. Each class of 1st and 2nd graders are seen 2 times a month and each class in 3rd-4th grade are seen 1 time a month for a preplanned STEAM lesson. Working with the teachers to plan lessons that are best suited for the current content being taught in the classroom we try to develop a plan that focuses on one of the STEAM concepts. My initial goal is : By the end of the 2025-2026 school year, teachers will enhance the use of technology in a manner that better engages the students. Using technology in a more meaningful way that is applicable to the lessons being studied and lessening the use of technology as a must simply because it is provided. Part 1: When starting to develop the LMS for this class I had a moment where I realized I have already been put in charge of something similar for my district. I have been asked to create a repository of resources for teachers that allows them to figure out the best technology to use for certain situations. Using the Triple E Framework I will be able to evaluate the technology before outlining it for teachers. Though the Triple E Framework will be the best approach for me to examine the technology I am putting out for teachers to use, I do think that they will need an introduction to the framework to develop a better understanding for what I am using to evaluate. The teachers and staff in my district will be the lead learners in this project and I will be creating the course for them to build a resource that allows them to access technology to enhance, engage and extend.
