Digital Storytelling (DST) has been lauded as a pedagogically sound activity for students of all ages and in all content areas (Lambert, 2010; Ohler, 2013). DST provides many opportunities for students to develop proficiencies outlined in the ISTE Standards for Students (2016). One standard that may not be the obvious first connection is “Empowered Learner”. Three readings are provided this week to support a discussion of the Standard 1 proficiencies. 1. Discuss your progress on the digital story.  What is your plan to be prepared to share your story during the 7th week of class?  What do you need assistance with? So far my script, story core and story map are well developed. I need to work more on figuring out the best way to put my story together. I am not really wanting to use my own voice for it right now, so I'm looking into ways to have an alternate voice or even just a written with pictures type of thing. I would say the technology aspect is what I need most assistance with. I'm not very strong in any of the editing programs for this type of thing and I am having to learn as I go. In order to be prepared for presenting my story I need to lock in what platform I am going to use to create my story.  2.
